Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Moments: Smart Video Split and Editor ("Moments," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the app. The app is provided by Nizameddin Tugral.
For privacy questions, contact momentssmartai@gmail.com.
Information We Process
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- Selected videos and related media metadata. When you grant Photos access, the app can show videos you allow. When you choose AI analysis and allow AI data sharing in the app, the app remembers that permission for future AI requests until you turn it off in Privacy. The app compresses the selected video or clip segment and uploads a temporary copy for cloud processing. Related metadata may include selected asset identifiers, duration, timing, upload status, job status, and diagnostics.
- User prompts and selected edit context. When you ask the cloud planner for an edit plan, the app may send your prompt, selected asset identifiers, existing AI analysis results, edit job status, and diagnostics for the selected videos.
- AI analysis results. The app and backend may store derived results such as scene summaries, detected moments, timestamps, object labels, edit decisions, model version, job status, and troubleshooting traces.
- Purchase and subscription information. Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps us manage subscription status, credit packs, product identifiers, transaction status, and entitlement access. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Device, app, diagnostics, analytics, and security data. Firebase App Check, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and our backend may process app instance identifiers, device/app state, workflow events, crash reports, non-fatal error reports, request metadata, IP address, timing, and log information to protect the backend, prevent abuse, operate the service, understand app usage, and improve reliability.
- Support communications. If you contact us, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address and support message.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Import videos you select and create editable timelines.
- Analyze selected videos for scenes, moments, split points, and edit suggestions.
- Generate AI edit plans from prompts and analysis results you choose to use with the cloud planner.
- Provide subscriptions, credits, purchase restoration, and entitlement checks.
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, debug crashes and failures, measure workflow performance, understand feature usage, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
Video Uploads and AI Processing
Moments does not upload every item in your photo library. Videos are uploaded only when you select videos, choose an AI-powered action that requires cloud analysis, and allow AI data sharing in the app. This permission is remembered for future AI requests until you turn it off in Privacy. The app creates a compressed temporary copy before upload so analysis can run faster.
Uploaded video copies, selected asset identifiers, related metadata, prompts, and derived analysis context are processed by our Google Cloud backend and Google's Vertex AI/Gemini services. Our backend is designed to delete uploaded source video objects after an analysis job completes or fails, with a fallback lifecycle rule intended to remove temporary upload objects within about 24 hours.
Derived analysis data, job metadata, edit decisions, and debug traces may be retained to operate the app, restore analysis state, troubleshoot issues, enforce usage limits, and improve service reliability.
Face Data
Moments does not use face recognition, face identification, facial verification, TrueDepth camera data, facial landmarks, face geometry, faceprints, face templates, or other biometric face identifiers.
Selected videos may incidentally contain visible faces if the user chooses videos that include people. Moments processes those faces only as part of the selected video content for the user-requested features described in this policy, such as scene, moment, split point, object, and edit suggestion analysis. Moments does not extract, create, store, or use face data to identify a person, authenticate a person, track a person across videos, build a face profile, or infer identity.
Temporary uploaded video copies that may contain visible faces are processed by our Google Cloud backend and Google's Vertex AI/Gemini services only to provide the requested AI video analysis or edit planning. Temporary uploaded source video objects are designed to be deleted after an analysis job completes or fails, with a fallback lifecycle rule intended to remove temporary upload objects within about 24 hours. Derived analysis results may include general scene summaries, timestamps, object labels, detected moments, or edit decisions, but are not faceprints or biometric identifiers.
On-Device Storage
The app stores project data, selected asset identifiers, timelines, analysis results, and export state locally on your device. This local data remains on your device unless you delete it in the app, delete the app, or erase the device.
Third-Party Services
Moments uses the following service providers:
- Apple App Store and StoreKit for in-app purchases, subscriptions, billing, refunds, and purchase management.
- RevenueCat for purchase validation, subscription status, entitlements, and paywall support.
- Firebase App Check for app attestation and backend abuse prevention.
- Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for app usage analytics, crash reporting, non-fatal error reporting, diagnostic logs, and anonymized user/session correlation.
- Google Cloud, Cloud Storage, Firestore, Cloud Run/Functions, and Vertex AI/Gemini for temporary upload handling, AI video analysis, backend job processing, and operational logs.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the app, process purchases, analyze selected videos, secure the backend, comply with law, or protect our rights and users. We require third-party service providers that process personal information for Moments to provide the same or equal level of privacy protection described in this policy and to use the information only to provide services to Moments.
Retention
Temporary uploaded video copies are intended to be deleted after processing and, as a fallback, within about 24 hours. Operational logs, analytics events, crash reports, diagnostic records, purchase records, entitlement records, support messages, derived analysis data, and legal/accounting records may be retained longer when needed for service operation, security, analytics, compliance, dispute handling, or legitimate business purposes.
Your Choices
- You can limit or revoke Photos access in iOS Settings.
- You can avoid cloud analysis by not choosing AI analysis actions, by declining the in-app AI data sharing prompt, or by turning off AI data sharing in Privacy.
- You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
- You can delete the app to remove local app data from your device.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information we control.
Children
Moments is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through the App Store where appropriate.
